Evangelism is taking the opportunity to spread God’s word, and it is woven throughout every ministry area of UCC, facilitated by the Missions Committee. Cultivating a lifestyle of reaching out to the lost is vital to the fulfilment of Jesus’ commission to us:
Charitable Giving is also a way in which the Love of God through Christ, is demonstrated to the world by us, His Church. Jesus began His ministry on earth by declaring that He has brought “good news to the poor”. (Luke 4)
We are to continue His work by reaching out in tangible ways to those who need it most.
Every April & November the United Community Church holds an Artisan’s Fair on our church grounds with over 150 local artisans that showcase their original hand crafted items. All vendors have been hand picked by the UCC Feria committee and a significant portion of the proceeds goes to support the UCC Mission Program.
BABS, the British and American Benevolent Society oversees the Devoto Home, a primary care geriatric facility. This is UCC’s oldest mission outreach program. On the fourth Sunday of each month, a pastor or lay leader and members of the congregation go to the Devoto Home (BABS) to join the residents for tea and sandwiches and lead a brief worship service.
UCC partners with different local and international organizations to do evangelistic and charitable outreaches into needy communities in our region.
Visits from Pneumatix School of Ministry and South Carolina Christian Dance Theatre are some of the programs that have been organised.
Members of UCC also do volunteer work in different charitable organisations like Casa de Galilea, Misioneras de la Caridad and others.
