Are you ready for the new?
As we stand at the threshold of a new year, we're reminded that God is constantly in the business of renewal and transformation. Drawing from Ephesians 5:15-16, we discover a powerful call to make the most of every opportunity, especially when the culture around us pushes against our faith like a hostile current. This message challenges us to live wisely, not letting the flow of the world carry us to places we never intended to go. The journey toward spiritual maturity requires us to actively let go of past failures and disappointments, as Isaiah 43:18-19 encourages us to forget former things and watch for the new things God is doing. But transformation isn't passive—it demands our participation. From 2 Corinthians 3:18, we learn that as we contemplate God's glory, we're being transformed from glory to glory, our character being reshaped into Christ's likeness. Yet character transformation alone isn't enough; Romans 12:2 reminds us that our minds must be renewed through God's Word, giving us an entirely new operating system for recognizing God's will. Perhaps most thrilling is the adventure described in John 3:8, where following the Holy Spirit means embracing unpredictability and allowing God to lead us into unknown territories. Like Paul in Philippians 3:12-14, we're called to press forward with holy discontentment, continuously pursuing God's purposes in our marriages, families, workplaces, and communities. The new year isn't just about resolutions—it's about positioning ourselves to receive everything God has prepared for us.
