The Book of Romans Part 8

What does it mean to truly be 'in Christ Jesus'? That question sits at the heart of this powerful exploration of Romans 8, and the answer is far more liberating than we might expect. We are walked through one of the most profound distinctions in the Christian life: the difference between our position in Christ and our daily practice. Our position is settled, secure, and unshakeable. Nothing, as Paul declares in Romans 8, can separate us from the love of God. Not our failures, not our past, not the accuser who comes reminding us of every wrong turn. Before the foundation of the world, we were chosen, adopted into God's family with full rights and inheritance, and that adoption cannot be undone. This is not a reward for good behavior. It is a gift of grace. The challenge for us is learning to live from that position rather than being defined by our imperfect practice. When we grasp that our standing before God is based on what Christ accomplished and not on what we have managed to do, everything changes. We stop striving to earn what has already been given and start walking in the freedom that is already ours.
